'Nuff Said

This is all I have to say to anyone who opposes the Cordoba House project in New York City.

  1. Knowing you I understand what your position is but objectively speaking the cartoon itself is ambiguous and could support either position. The idea of the Cordoba Mosque (the original one) was to establish mastery over a conquerored religious group. So just as the Conquistadors force Christianity on the Native Americans, so too did the Islam force religion on the Spaniards in Cordoba. http://witcombe.sbc.edu/sacredplaces/cordoba.html --Alex

  2. Well said, my friend... I would expect nothing less from you. I love the ambiguous nature of cartoons simply because they are so direct, yet can be interpreted in so many ways... just like art and music and the written word. Imam Rauf has a stong argument for the buildng of the 'modern' Cordoba House, but I find the arguments against it weak and filled with uneducated hatred. We humans are so simple-minded when it comes to things we don't understand. THANK YOU for commenting with your usual intellectual strength... I am lucky to know you!
